IPOH: For Muhammat Ridzuan Ishak, 33, the loss of his younger and closest brother in a tragic accident is very difficult to bear, especially since he gave much joy to his family with his antics and cheerfulness.

He said that it was a harsh reality to swallow when his brother Muhammad Ikmal, 26, was killed along with his wife, Nur Arfiqah Aziz Jaafar, 23, and three of his in-laws in a road accident at Kilometre (KM) 7, Jalan Jerantut-Maran near Jerantut, Pahang early Saturday (June 7) morning.

Ridzuan, who accepted this fate, said his younger brother was very good, cheerful, and always the one who brightened things up around his siblings.

The last time we met was on Wednesday at Taman Malar, Tambun, when the siblings gathered, and as usual, the deceased was cheerful. We have seven siblings, and the deceased was the sixth child.

"Before the incident, I saw a WhatsApp status around 10pm where he complained that it was the first time he was using this road and that it would be the last time," he said when contacted by Bernama on Saturday.

Recalling the incident, Ridzuan said he received a phone call from Nur Arfiqah's brother informing him about the incident.

"I was stunned. But even though I was sad, I will accept this test from Allah.

Earlier, Jerantut OCPD Supt Zukri Muhammad reported that in the accident last night involving two vehicles at KM7, Jalan Jerantut-Maran, the deceased included the car driver Mohamad Ikmal, who resided in Ulu Kinta, and his wife Nur Arfiqah.

Also among the deceased were Nur Arfiqah's siblings, Mohammad Zulkifli, 21, Mohamad Azizul Hakimi, 19, and Nurul Hazwani, 17, all of whom resided in Bota.- Bernama
