KUALA LUMPUR: Serian IPD in Sarawak recorded a very unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) reading of 201 while 12 others recorded unhealthy API readings as of 6pm Wednesday (Sept 23).
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, the areas recording unhealthy API levels were Kuching (185), Samarahan (182), Sri Aman (176), Bintulu (174), Sibu (166) and Samalaju (164).
Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Sarikei (164), Miri (161), Mukah (160), Miri ILP (154), Limbang (153) and Kapit (121).
Meanwhile, 45 areas across the country recorded readings at a moderate level, while nine areas recorded good readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and above 300 (hazardous). - Bernama
