SHAH ALAM: A screengrab of a purported official deregistration notice to Perikatan Nasional from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has gone viral, Sinar Harian reports.
According to the purported notice, dated Sept 22, 2026, the Perikatan chairman had been given 30 days to submit representations to the ROS, the Malay language daily reported.
The same excerpt also alleged that a written order dated Sept 23, 2026, had been issued to suspend all activities and the use of Perikatan’s name with immediate effect, in accordance with Section 13(2) of the Societies Act 1966.
Sinar Harian reported that it was seeking comments from Perikatan leaders, including secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Wawasan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, but has yet to receive a response.
The ROS is also expected to issue an official statement on the matter soon.
The development comes amid Perikatan’s internal dispute following a complaint lodged by Bersatu with the ROS over the party’s position in the coalition.
The ROS had previously confirmed receiving Bersatu’s official complaint on Aug 11, including allegations that the party was not involved in Perikatan supreme council meeting on July 16 and issues concerning its membership status in the coalition.
On Saturday (Sept 19), Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also urged the ROS to make an immediate decision on the party’s complaint, including allegations that Perikatan’s leadership had breached eight provisions.
He said eight key matters had been raised, which Perikatan was alleged to have violated.
