KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional has confirmed it has received a notice from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to explain why the coalition should not be deregistered.
Sources within the coalition said the letter was sent to the Perikatan chairman and secretary-general on Tuesday (Sept 22).
"All the component parties were also cc'd and given a copy of the letter," said a source.
According to the letter, Perikatan has been given 30 days to state why it should not be deregistered.
It is learnt that ROS has directed component parties not to use the Perikatan logo for any activities until a decision has been made.
Earlier, the ROS confirmed receiving an official complaint from Bersatu, claiming that the party was not included in a Perikatan supreme council meeting held on July 16.
The party also raised the issue of its membership within the coalition to the ROS.
It is learnt that the ROS would issue a statement on the matter.
