Segamat MP denies claims of PKR MPs withdrawing support for PM

PETALING JAYA: Claims that several PKR MPs are withdrawing their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim are fake, says R.Yuneswaran.

The Segamat MP said there was a message making its rounds, listing several PKR MPs, which he said was a "malicious and baseless political ploy".

He said the unscrupulous parties are exploiting events such as the recent PKR elections and the resignations of Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad from the cabinet, to paint a false picture of internal chaos within PKR.

He described it as an attempt by dissatisfied individuals in a desperate attempt to undermine stability, sow confusion and discredit the unity of the government.

"Let us be clear. The message is fake, unfounded and reeks of desperation.

"Whenever the government shows strength and gains public trust, there are always some who seek to derail progress through misinformation.

"The politics of sabotage should not triumph over a government that is focused on progress and committed to the people’s mandate, " Yuneswaran said.

He also said that Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang and several other MPs named in the message have also denied claims made in the message.
