Hair and scalp wellness for 17 years with expansion

Scalp and hair wellness brand Midyson Hair and Scalp Wellness announced its grand opening of its 17th outlet in Kepong Menjalara, Kuala Lumpur on June 20.

The event was marked by the official brand endorsement signing with well-known personality KK Wong, who joins Midyson as its newest brand ambassador.

Presiding over the occasion was Midyson founder and chief executive officer Ida Khoo who expressed pride in the brand’s continued growth and mission to bring herbal-based hair care to Malaysians.

Midyson’s story did not begin in the boardroom, but from Khoo’s personal conviction in searching for hair and skincare products that use natural alternatives.

Her journey in the hair and scalp wellness industry started in 2010, when she experienced losing two close relatives to cancer.

Shaken by grief and alarmed by the presence of potentially harmful chemicals in everyday hair and skincare products, the former electronics industry professional aims to care for her hair without compromising her health.

She embarked on a search for a natural hair care alternative without compromising her health. Her search led her to a herbal solution discovered through a chance reconnection with a former colleague in Singapore.

After personally experiencing the treatment and witnessing its results on grey hairs, shinier strands and lighter-feeling scalp, Khoo resolved to bring this remedy back to Malaysia and make it available to as many people as possible.

What began as a single outlet in Lip Sin Garden, Penang has since grown into a nationally recognised brand with 17 company-owned and franchised outlets spanning the Peninsular and East Malaysia.

Over the course of 17 years, Midyson has served more than 41,349 customers, built a professional training institution through the Midyson Academy, and earned both halal certification and a franchise licence.

These milestones reflect not only commercial success but the trust placed in the brand by its customers and partners alike.

At the heart of Midyson’s offerings are its Deepcaring Herbal Hair Treatment and 100% Vegan Darken Hair Treatment; treatments designed to address some of the most common hair care concerns while avoiding the chemical compounds typically associated with conventional hair dyes, in line with Midyson’s brand mission of “Safer Colour Younger Look.”

Wong also celebrated his 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry by reflecting on his journey of self-discovery. He shared that he is now more matured, thoughtful and appreciative of life, with a deeper understanding of himself and his life journey.

With the opening of its 17th outlet, Midyson reaffirms its commitment to expanding access to hair and scalp wellness solutions for Malaysians everywhere.
