KUALA LUMPUR: No race, religion, and royalty (3R) issues were reported during a Malay rights rally here, according to the police.
"What was said was only on matters pertaining to the Malay people. If there are reports, the police will conduct our investigations," Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said in a statement on Saturday (May 24).
He added that around 700 to 800 people participated in the rally.
Around 80 policemen were stationed at the rally to maintain order.
"No outward incidents occurred. We will study the need to call in the organisers for statements," he said.
Earlier on Saturday (May 24), the rally, dubbed the Himpunan Melayu Berdaulat, saw numerous participants gathering at the Sogo Shopping Centre to show solidarity against perceived threats to Bumiputera rights and Islam.
