Wesak Day reminds us of universal values, says Anwar


PETALING JAYA: Wesak Day is an important reminder to uphold universal values of compassion, harmony, and peace, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his Wesak Day message, Anwar highlighted the celebration's role in fostering mutual respect and understanding in Malaysia's multicultural society.

"In Malaysia, the celebration of Wesak Day calls upon the conscience of society to nurture the spirit of human dignity and promote sincere respect for one another amid diversity," he said in a Facebook post on Monday (May 12)

Anwar added that the occasion invites all Malaysians to embrace humanity and mutual respect as the foundation for unity and progress.

"I call upon everyone to embrace these values for a united and harmonious nation, while preserving our rich traditions and cultural heritage," he said.
