Unity Minister extends Wesak Day greetings, emphasises universal values

KUALA LUMPUR: National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang today extended Wesak Day greetings to all Buddhists celebrating the occasion tomorrow.

He said the universal values highlighted during the celebration, such as compassion, loving-kindness, and self-reflection, align closely with the nation’s aspirations.

"Malaysia’s diversity is its strength. However, this strength can only be sustained if we strive to understand one another, respect our differences and embrace diversity as part of our national identity,” he said in a Facebook post.

Aaron emphasised that these values must go beyond words and be genuinely reflected in actions and national policies.

"These values must begin at home, be reinforced in schools, expressed in our communities and upheld by every citizen,” he added. - Bernama
