Nurul Izzah officially files her nomination for PKR deputy presidency


PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Anwar has officially submitted her nomination to contest the PKR deputy presidency, according to the party’s online election system on Friday (May 9).

Her name now appears under the deputy president category, confirming earlier speculation about her return to frontline party leadership.

However, the names of incumbent deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and party secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail have yet to appear in the nomination system.

The daughter of party president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Nurul Izzah previously served as PKR vice-president and was a founding member of the party.

The 2025 PKR elections are shaping up to be closely watched, particularly the contest for the number two post, which is expected to influence the party’s future leadership direction.
