Nurul Izzah says will make ‘best decision” on bid for PKR deputy president’s post

PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Anwar said she will make the “best decision” on whether to contest the PKR deputy president’s post amid grassroots support.

The former Permatang Paul MP said she respected and appreciated the views of grassroots members who had urged her to run for the party’s number two post, currently being held by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.

“I respect and appreciate the grassroots' views calling for me to contest the deputy president’s post. Any decision that will be made must consider not only the need to unite and strengthen the bonds among fellow comrades but also the need to bring fresh perspectives and meaningful changes to ensure that this party remains relevant and trusted by Malaysians.

“I will make the best decision in balancing consensus, friendship, and meaningful change and reform for all members.

“We make decisions not for any individual, but to collectively shape the party’s future,” she said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (May 7).
