Penang PKR supports Nurul Izzah for deputy presidency

GEORGE TOWN: Penang PKR said it fully supports Nurul Izzah Anwar’s bid for the party's deputy president’s post, says Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid.

"Her candidacy is not only based on her ability and talents, but also as an effort to regenerate the party, to face the 16th General Election,” said the state PKR deputy head.

In a statement on Wednesday (May 7), the Deputy Chief Minister l said Nurul Izzah has the strong background, experience and integrity to hold the deputy presidency.

"She is a politician with principles and has rejected dirty and corrupt politics with a clean image, which is seen as a symbol of renewal in the party.

Mohamad said that at a time when the political landscape is undergoing major challenges, PKR must be helmed by leadership that understands the people's pulse at the grassroots level.

"Without a doubt, Nurul will be able to shoulder the responsibilities given as she has been tested and has stood steadfast and resilient," he added.
