Motorcyclist killed in fiery collision in Penang

NIBONG TEBAL: A motorcyclist was killed while another sustained serious burns following a collision on Jalan Sungai Kechil here.

According to the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, the team received the call about the incident at 12.06am on Sunday (May 4).

"Upon arrival at the scene, we saw both motorcycles were in flames. There were two victims, both in their 40s.

"The first man suffered serious injuries as his leg was pinned. He was later pronounced dead.

“The other man suffered burns to 50% of his body. He was sent to Sungai Bakap Hospital in an ambulance," said the department in a statement on Sunday.

It added that firemen brought the blaze under control at 12.32am and concluded the operation at 1.25am.
