Four nabbed over illegal lottery ops

IPOH: Four suspects have been arrested with over RM110,000 seized following raids on three illegal lottery operations here, police revealed.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said three premises in residential areas which were converted into “counting centres” had been raking in RM5mil in monthly sales.

“Further investigations found that each agent was assigned a monthly credit limit of RM4mil by the organiser, which served as their betting limit,” Comm Noor said at a press conference here yesterday.

He said the raids on Sunday were targeted at Simpang Pulai, Khantan Bharu and Kuala Kuang where the syndicate, known as “mushroom”, was believed to be operating.

He said the four locals, who included a woman, were aged between 50 and 60.
