Ayer Kuning polls: Dr Wee urges outstation voters to return to vote on April 26

PETALING JAYA: Many Ayer Kuning constituents who are working outside may have already returned for Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations or to observe Qing Ming, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said this was a concern as they may be unable to return again to cast their ballots, though he urged them to do so.

"Whether you are living in Ayer Kuning or based outside the constituency, I urge all of you to come out to vote on April 26 and fulfil your duty as voters," the Ayer Hitam MP said in a Facebook post Sunday (April 20).

Dr Wee also said that he had visited the Kampung Baru Coldstream operations centre for an online meeting to ensure that the campaign work at all voting stations was going smoothly.

After the meeting, he took part in a walkabout in the village and introduced Barisan Nasional candidate Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir to the residents.

The Ayer Kuning by-election is a three-way contest between Yusri, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Abd Muhaimin Malek and KS Bawani from Parti Sosialis Malaysia.

The Election Commission (EC) has set polling day for April 26, with early voting scheduled for April 22.
