PM Anwar attends special meeting and briefing on Sarawak's development


KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today attended a Special Meeting and State Development Briefing at Wisma Bapa Malaysia in conjunction with his one-day working visit to Kuching.

Anwar Ibrahim was welcomed upon his arrival by Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and the state Cabinet.

The one-hour meeting with the Premier was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and the state cabinet members.

Datuk Seri Anwar also visited an exhibition on the construction of a new deep-sea port in Tanjung Embang, which is based on the Kobe Port model in Japan.

He then attended the Madani Aidilfitri celebration at Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya at noon.

At about 1.50pm, Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend an Open House organised by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri at Wisma Sabati before departing for the capital at 3.15pm.- Bernama
