Sabah Pakatan call for strict monitoring of subsidised diesel sales

KOTA KINABALU: There has to be stringent monitoring for the sales of subsidised diesel to prevent leakages, said Datuk Chan Foong Hin.

The Sabah Pakatan Harapan Information chief said on principle, the Sabah Pakatan supports the new subsidy reformation initiative

He also said the new mechanism that would be introduced starting in July must be free of disruptions.

“The additional quota for diesel users in rural areas must be flexible and user-friendly, considering that usage in Sabah is different and travel distances are longer,” Chan said in a statement on Wednesday (June 24).

Chan said there must be a platform to ask questions or file complaints as well if any issues should arise from this change of subsidy mechanism.

He said the subsidised diesel implementation has to reflect what the government aims to achieve.
