Flash floods hit parts of Selangor, congestion at Puchong toll plaza

PETALING JAYA: Several locations around Selangor are reporting flash floods after continuous heavy rain since 2am on Friday (April 11).

The affected area in Shah Alam was Kampung Padang Jawa, which saw 0.6m of water as of 8am.

Some 20 houses were affected by the flooding.

Twenty houses and six people were affected and the victims were temporarily relocated to the Putra Heights mosque to wait out the flooding.

A 75-year-old bedridden stroke patient was also evacuated from her house in Taman Iswara, Sri Muda in Shah Alam after floodwaters hit.

“Residents’ vehicles are parked on the left lane at KM52.6 westbound and at Puchong Barat Toll Plaza (obstructing the two left lanes) because of flash floods in areas adjacent to the expressway.

Several videos and photos of flash floods at Taman Mas and other nearby areas in Puchong have also gone viral on social media.
