KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected across several regions in Malaysia, with warnings in effect until 7pm on Thursday (April 10), said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on its Facebook page.
In Terengganu, areas such as Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, and Kemaman are on alert.
In Pahang, the regions of Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Jerantut, Kuantan, and Rompin are expected to experience severe weather.
In Negeri Sembilan, districts including Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol, and Tampin are under the warning.
The warning also extends to Melaka.
In Johor, areas such as Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are forecasted to be affected.
In Sarawak, the regions of Kapit (Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh), Miri (Telang Usan), and Limbang are expected to experience adverse conditions.
In Sabah, the Interior (Sipitang), West Coast (Papar), and Sandakan (Telupid) are also under the thunderstorm warning.
This warning is issued when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to persist for more than an hour.
These are short-term warnings, valid for no more than six hours from issuance.
