KANGAR: All mosques in Perlis have been directed to recite Qunut Nazilah (supplication for protection during times of calamity) during the final raka'ah of the five daily prayers starting from Fajr prayer on Wednesday (April 9), until further notice.

The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said the order was issued with the consent of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, following ongoing Israeli military attacks and the blockade of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

"With the consent of His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, and after closely monitoring the situation in Gaza involving military aggression and aid restrictions by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, it is hereby ordered that all mosques in Perlis recite Qunut Nazilah in all five daily prayers beginning April 9 (10 Syawal 1446H)," he said in a statement on Tuesday (April 8).

The statement was issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs)
