Perak Islamic educators to receive cash aid for Hari Raya

IPOH: Islamic educators under the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) will receive special financial aid in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said 3,495 recipients, consisting of 3,117 Kelas Al-Quran dan Fardhu 'Ain (Kafa) and 378 takmir teachers will each receive RM500.

"The payments will be credited to the recipients' accounts starting Friday (March 28).

"The total payout is about RM1.75mil," he said in a statement on Monday (March 24).

Saarani said the initiative is to recognise the contributions and sacrifices of the Islamic religious educators.

"I hope the aid will help ease their financial burden as they prepare for Hari Raya," he said.

Earlier this month, Saarani announced a special aid of RM1,500 to all state civil servants in conjunction with the celebration.

The RM8.8mil payout, which started to be distributed on Monday (March 24), was for 13,582 recipients, including state-appointed teachers, Orang Besar Jajahan, village heads and MySTEP contract staff.
