Perak State Public Library Corporation has introduced the Digital Library Van as an innovative effort to bring mobile library services to communities in rural areas.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the van was introduced in rural areas or locations with limited access to library facilities.

“With the concept of ‘Knowledge at Your Fingertips, Connecting Communities’, this van serves as a mobile learning centre that combines reading materials, digital technology and interactive educational activities,” Saarani said at the state government’s meet-the-clients day at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, reported Bernama.

He said the initiative was to bridge the information access gap and foster a culture of reading and lifelong learning among the local community.

During the event, he said 175 complaints regarding various public issues were received.

“In the previous series, we received 285 complaints with 236 (83%) of them resolved, while the remaining 49 (17%) requiring further action,” he added.

The programme also featured activities such as a sale by the Yayasan Bina Upaya and the Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation, a Rahmah Sale by Mydin and Berkat Jaya, as well as the sale of festive biscuits by six registered entrepreneurs under the Perak Entrepreneur Development Secretariat.
