Ambulance crashes into tree

KUALA TERENGGANU: A patient and medical staff members faced a harrowing experience when the ambulance they were travelling in veered off the road near Jambu Bongkok in Marang, at midnight.

Marang OCPD Supt Mohd Sofian Redzuan said police received a call at 12.30am regarding the incident.

He said the accident occurred when the left rear tyre of the Health Ministry-owned van carrying a 21-year-old female patient had burst, causing the vehicle to skid and crash into a tree.

Supt Mohd Sofian said all victims sustained minor injuries and were taken to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah for further treatment.
