Fadillah praises user-friendly cashless system at Putrajaya bazaar

PUTRAJAYA: The cashless payment system at the Putrajaya Ramadan Bazaar has impressed Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who views the initiative as a user-friendly approach benefiting both traders and buyers.

He noted that the system not only simplified transactions but also accelerated the process, reduced the risk of theft and made the bazaar more organised.

"This cashless payment system is superior and more convenient, reducing the need for cash transactions," he told reporters at the launch of the QR Code Scan and Pay (Cashless) programme at the Ramadan Bazaars in Presint 14 and Presint 11 here on Thursday (March 20).

Fadillah mentioned that he had been invited to visit one of the Ramadan bazaars and added that multiple bazaars in the area were managed by various entities, including Putrajaya Corporation, residents' associations and private organisations.

Also present at the event was Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud.

Meanwhile, the event on Thursday featured sponsorships of canopies, aprons and hats for all traders by MAE in collaboration with Maybank Islamic and Paynet.

MAE is offering a RM2 cashback promotion for buyers who use the MAE QR code for transactions at traders' stalls in Presint 14 and 11, as well as at Ramadan Bazaars in Taman Melawati, Tasik Tambahan, AU2 and Belatuk in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

They are also providing 'Duit Raya' incentives for traders with the highest number of transactions, while Petronas Gas has sponsored two gas cylinders per vendor and contributed aprons. – Bernama
