Road rage: Police record six statements in Kajang student assault case


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statements of six individuals in its investigation into the assault of a secondary school student, allegedly by a travel advisor, following a traffic dispute in Saujana Impian, Kajang.

Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said they include the victim, the suspect and a witnesst.

"The court only granted a one-day remand order on the suspect, who has no prior criminal record," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 15).

On Friday (March 14), a 17-year-old student claimed he was assaulted by an unidentified male driver in the Saujana Impian area.

The teenager suffered a fractured nose and received treatment at Kajang Hospital.

The teenager did not have a valid driving licence and was later issued a traffic summons.

The 39-year-old suspect was arrested in Kajang, Selangor, at 9.50pm on Friday for investigation under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt and Section 279 of the same Code for reckless driving. – Bernama
