Woman killed as car overturns on PLUS Highway near Kulai


KULAI: A woman has been killed and three others injured in an accident at KM 39.9 of the southbound PLUS Highway.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Asmiza Zaini said a distress call was received at 5.19pm on Sunday (March 9).

"Fire and Rescue teams from Kulai and Renggam were dispatched to the scene and they arrived at 5.43pm.

"The rescue team found a female passenger, aged 29, trapped inside the vehicle.

"Despite efforts to free her, she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel," he said in a statement.

He added that the remaining three victims, the 30-year-old male driver, a four-year-old girl, and a three-month-old baby, were injured and were given medical attention.

The operation concluded at 6.13pm and the deceased's body was handed over to the police for further investigation.
