Restaurant owner hurt in floor collapse

KOTA KINABALU: A 55-year-old Chinese national was injured when the first floor of a four-storey shophouse here collapsed.

Identified as Wang Way, she suffered a fractured leg and severe bruises after debris hit her as the flooring from the first floor gave way at about 8pm on Friday.

It is understood that the woman and her husband have been operating a restaurant on the ground floor of the Segama Complex, which was built in the mid 1970s.

The collapse caused a large hole in the first floor of the building that houses an inn.

There were no casualties.
