KUALA LUMPUR: Seven men were fined between RM50 and RM4,500 by three Magistrates' Courts here Friday (May 22) after pleading guilty to various offences.
The charges involved burning flares, causing public disturbance and stopping a vehicle in a manner dangerous to road users.
Mohamad Azhar Mohamed Idris, 31, was fined RM4,500 or six months' jail for deliberately stopping his four-wheel-drive vehicle in the middle of a traffic light junction.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang at about 2.07am on May 18.
Five other men were each fined RM400 or one month's jail for causing a public nuisance at the same location, date and time.
They are Amir Adzim Shahrul Nizam, 25, Khairul Hamizan Zainudin, 28, Muhammad Izz Mifzal Mirza Mohd Noordzalie, 22, Muhammad Ariff Aiman Mohamed Nasir, 23, and Muhammad Ikhwan Daniel Azman, 25.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Haziq Akmal Mohd Yazid, 24, was fined RM50 or five days' jail for burning a flare at the same location.
