Melaka hotel hosts orphans for special Ramadan buffet

MELAKA: A Melaka hotelier extended a warm gesture by hosting 34 orphans from Kompleks Anak Yatim Fatimah Al-Zaharah (KAYFAZ) in Bukit Katil for a special Ramadan buffet.

Casa De Rio Hotel manager Agnes Tay invited the children to experience the ambience of the prestigious hotel, where renowned Chinese actress Fan Bingbing stayed for four nights during her visit to the historic city last year.

"I am a Malaysian, and Ramadan has been part of my celebrations since I was a young girl.

“I wanted to give these orphans the experience of dining in a starred hotel where Fan Bingbing and even our Majesty the King stayed during their visit to the state in 2024,” she said during an interview on Tuesday (March 4) night.

Tay said the orphans enjoyed the buffet as part of the hotel's initiative to give back to the community during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

She emphasised the hotel's commitment to supporting those in need throughout the month.

“We are happy to do our part in hosting these orphans, and they were glad to have the opportunity to dine with these children,” she added.

Tay said the hotel also welcomed members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on the same day, further spreading the spirit of Ramadan and fostering a sense of togetherness in the local community.
