MELAKA: The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) has welcomed professionals from diverse industries into its ranks to enhance its service to the public.
Chairman of the Melaka Civil Defence Force Associate Officers, Associate Colonel (PA) Mike Thien, said that the newly absorbed personnel come from various sectors, including medical, business and media fields.
"Their expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the APM's mission. They will use their expertise to strengthen and support the APM," he said during an APM gathering at its headquarters in the Home Ministry complex in Ayer Keroh on Tuesday (Feb 18).
The event was attended by APM's administration director Assistant Commissioner (PA) Dr Mohamad Fazli Sardi and Melaka APM director Lt. Kol (PA) Kamarulsyah Muslim.
Thien added that integrating professionals into the APM marks a strategic move to enhance the force's volunteerism capabilities, ensuring a more effective response to community needs.
