SEREMBAN: There will be no changes to the Negri Sembilan exco lineup for now, says Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
The Mentri Besar, who has also ruled out any reshuffle, said he was generally satisfied with the performances of his 10 excos although there were probably some hiccups, especially with those serving in the position for the first time.
"There may have been some shortcomings in their first year as exco for some but there has been a lot of improvement since.
"Overall, I am happy with their performances and am not planning a reshuffle for now," he told reporters after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri on Wednesday (Feb 12).
The exco members were sworn in before state ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir on Aug 24, 2023 after Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan formed the state government.
Barisan and PH won 31 of the 36 seats in the 15th state election while Perikatan Nasional bagged five.
Aminuddin said he regularly monitored the performances of his exco members and would provide advice whenever he felt there was room for improvement.
"Having a reshuffle can also disrupt their work and planning.
"I also discuss matters with my exco team such as during budget consultations for example and from there, I know what programmes they planned to do for the benefit of the people," he said adding that he has also set key performance index targets for his exco team.
On a separate matter, Aminuddin said the state administration was planning to gazette more areas to be turned into cemeteries for non-Muslims.
"This issue was brought to the attention of the state exco a couple of weeks ago and we plan to look for new burial grounds for the non-Muslim community.
"Although the shortage of burial land is not yet critical, we need to start planning," he said, adding that there was sufficient burial land for Muslims.
Aminuddin was also asked if the state government, through its water concessionaire Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan, was planning to revise water tariffs.
"There are no such plans for now," he added.
