RV fans set to throng Melaka in September

MELAKA: Over 1,000 campervan and motorhome enthusiasts are set to converge on Melaka for the Caravan Jamboree to be held in September in conjunction with World Tourism Day (WTD) and the World Tourism Conference (WTC), says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said the event will be organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Campervan and Motorhome Association to enhance the state’s tourism sector through a new attraction, namely recreational vehicles (RVs).

“We will host Malaysia’s largest Caravan Jamboree at Dataran 1Malaysia, one of the highlights of the WTD and WTC this September.

“The event is expected to become an attraction for over 155 delegations led by tourism ministers from around the world,” he said at the launch of the Camper Rally Melaka 2025.

Also at the event were state executive councillor for housing, local government, drainage, climate change and disaster management Datuk Rais Yasin and Malaysian Campervan and Motorhome Association president Farman Othman.

Ab Rauf said the state is committed to expanding the RV industry, including enhancing campground facilities and offering more recreational camping activities.
