Wife of disabled victim condemns 'inhumane' attack on husband

PETALING JAYA: The wife of Ahmad Nor Al Faizan Jusoh, the disabled man who was attacked at Pasar Tani in Chukai, Terengganu has described the attack on her husband as "inhumane and heartless".

Faridah Abdul Karim, 44, said that she never imagined such a traumatic incident would happen to her husband.

"I was devastated and heartbroken when I saw the viral video of my husband being beaten, dragged, and even having fried noodles poured over his head.

"I can't imagine what they were thinking at that time, especially since my husband repeatedly apologised for his mistake," she told Sinar Harian.

On Sunday (Jan 19), Faridah and her family received a visit from Umno Youth executive committee member Mohd Fadini Rahim and also spoke with the Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Akmal Saleh via video call.

Faridah, who was still saddened by the incident, said the alleged attackers should have acted more rationally.

She said the assault on her husband continued even after he apologised.

"When he asked for water to wash his eyes, he was kicked in the head again.

"Why treat him that way? He is a human being, not an animal.

"But there was no justification for such cruel treatment," said the mother of five.

Faridah also expressed her gratitude to those who intervened and stopped the assault on her husband.

In the incident on Jan 19, disabled trader Ahmad Noh Al Faizan Jusoh was assaulted by a group of men after he crashed his motorcycle into a stall at the Pasar Tani Taman Astaka in Chukai, Terengganu.
