Sympathy and anger from internet users over assault video on disabled man

PETALING JAYA: A viral video of a disabled man being assaulted in Terengganu has invoked sympathy and anger among internet users with some saying it's not the way to solve disputes while others say there was no compassion for the disabled.

"The man was not aggressive, how could they gang up on him as there was no need for such violence," said M. Narendran Muthukrishnan on Facebook.

"Hopefully the society understands it's not the way of handling things," said Shivan Shivan.

"Send those uncivilised men to jail. They deserve it," said Teoh Chii Shyong.

"What a shame to your race and your family," said Noroz Khan.

"Only monsters go after a disabled person," said Tuck Ham Wong.

In an incident which took place last week, disabled trader, Ahmad Noh Al Faizan Jusoh was assaulted by a group of men after he accidentally hit one of their stalls at the Pasar Tani Taman Astaka in Chukai, Terengganu.

He sustained injuries to the body and face and was admitted to the Kemaman Hospital for treatment.

Police have since arrested three men between the ages of 18 and 60 to assist in the investigation.
