KOTA BARU: The remains of Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, 33, one of five killed in a helicopter crash in Sarawak, are expected to be buried at the Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery here upon completion of forensic procedures.
Her father, Kamarudin Salleh, 69, said funeral prayers for Dr Ainul would be held at Masjid Al Karamah in Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa.
"I have contacted the mosque management to make early preparations for the burial," he told Bernama on Wednesday night (Sept 9).
On when her remains would be flown from Miri to Kota Bharu, he said the matter had yet to be finalised.
On Tuesday (Sept 8), the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) stated that a BO-105 helicopter carrying five people, including the pilot, crashed near the Long Lellang Short Take-off and Landing Airport (STOLport) in Ulu Baram, about 929 kilometres from Kuching.
According to CAAM, the helicopter was operating a Flying Doctor Service (FDS) mission when the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, Miri Division Resident Galong Luang, who is also Miri Division Disaster Management Committee chairman, confirmed that all five aboard the helicopter died in the crash at about 3.40pm on Tuesday.
The victims were pilot Capt Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 30; medical officer Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, 33; medical assistant Alexson Adit Henry, 31; and nurses Debra Moset, 40, and Jessie Paya Jok, 44. – Bernama
