Daughter of disabled assault victim expresses gratitude

PETALING JAYA: The daughter of disabled victim Ahmad Nor Al Faizan Jusoh, who was assaulted, has told her father to rest and thanked everyone who prayed for him.

"Restlah Abah. The world is cruel," mStar quoted Farhana as saying on Sunday (Jan 19).

Ahmad Nor is being treated at Kemaman Hospital after sustaining injuries in an attack at the Pasar Tani Taman Astaka, Chukai, Terengganu.

The incident sparked public outrage after the video went viral on social media.

In her TikTok post, which garnered 3 million views, Farhana said she was amazed by the support and prayers for her father.

"We as a family appreciate and would once again like to thank everyone."

The video shows Farhana caring for her father, who is receiving treatment.

In another clip, the victim is seen holding tightly to the arm of a woman, believed to be a family member.

The incident has drawn sympathy, with many offering help to the family, including financial aid to compensate for his damaged business stall.

Last Friday, three men aged between 18 and 60 were held by police to assist in the investigation of the scuffle.

Acting Kemaman OCPD Deputy Supt Wan Muhammad Wan Jaafar, said the three suspects were detained at the Kemaman police station at 8pm.

The incident occurred when the victim accidentally hit a store, causing goods to fall and scatter.

The victim was beaten by several people, sustaining injuries to his body and face, and was later taken to Kemaman Hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the case under Section 147 of the Penal Code.

Meanwhile, an old friend of Ahmad Nor, Engku Fadzil, wrote about his friend's assault on Facebook.

In his post, Engku Fadzil said his friend, known as 'Paijang,' was from SMK Agama Sheikh Abdul Malek, Kuala Terengganu.

"He is someone we respect because he was active, especially in hockey. However, he experienced mental issues after SPM, where he became unstable but has never acted violently,” he said.

“He is funny and likes to crack jokes all the time. We are very sad about what happened to Paijang, which is inhumane and devoid of dignity," added Engku Fadzil.
