Noh Omar appointed Bersatu supreme council member


PETALING JAYA: Former Selangor Umno chairman, Tan Sri Noh Omar is among five appointed to the Bersatu leadership supreme council.

The appointment also saw four others Datuk Harisson Hassan (Kuala Selangor division), Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq (Kepala Batas division), Danni Rais (Jelebu division) and Alkaf Jaziri Abdillah Suffian (Santubong division).

Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin appointed the supreme council, state chiefs and deputies in the first supreme council meeting of 2025.

"All of these appointments are in accordance with the provisions of the party Constitution," Sinar Harian quoted Mohamed Azmin as saying on Saturday (Jan 18).

"The combination of young, professional and experienced leaders will help to strengthen the party organisation and continue Bersatu's ideals.

Mohamed Azmin said among the main issues discussed in the meeting was the preparation for the Sabah state election which is expected to be held soon.

"Bersatu is holding discussions and engaging with various stakeholders in Sabah, refining focus areas and preparing a manifesto for the future of Sabah," he added.
