MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for multiple regions


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, forecasting severe weather conditions including heavy rain and strong winds across several regions until 9pm on Monday (Dec 30).

Affected areas include parts of Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Hilir Perak and Muallim); Pahang (Maran and Bera); Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling and Hulu Langat); Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru).

In Sarawak, regions affected include Kuching; Serian; Samarahan (Simunjan); Sri Aman and Sibu (Kanowit) and also on Sabah's west coast in Ranau; Kota Belud and Kudat's Kota Marudu.

MetMalaysia advised residents in these areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
