Storm warning: Heavy rain, thunderstorms expected over five states, two FTs until 9pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over five states and two federal territories until 9pm on Saturday (Dec 28).

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 5pm Saturday, it said the areas affected include Kedah (Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang (North Seberang Perai), Perak (Hilir Perak), Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang) and the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong) and Bintulu (Tatau)

Malaysia is currently experiencing the Northeast Monsoon.
