JOHOR BARU: Police are looking for individuals involved in a brawl at a Stulang Baru restaurant which had gone viral on social media.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said that no reports have been lodged by the victim or any of the individuals involved.

“The police received a viral video on social media regarding the incident at 11am on Sunday (Dec 8),” he said as reported by Sinar Harian.

“Efforts are underway to identify the individuals involved, witnesses to the incident, and the actual cause of the altercation,” he said in a statement.

He advised the public not to share the video on social media to avoid misunderstandings or spread speculation that could disrupt social harmony.

The viral video, lasting a minute and 30 seconds, shows a man and a woman initially engaging in a verbal argument before the man, wearing a red t-shirt, strikes the woman on her back. The woman then retaliates by attempting to fling a chair at the man.

The woman is later seen running towards the shop counter, while the man is calmed down by bystanders. The shop owner is also seen briefly turning off the lights to defuse the situation.
