WITH artificial intelligence (AI) becoming an increasingly integral part of everyday life, OPPO believes that it should function to understand a user’s needs, daily routines and one that fits naturally into their workflows and creative processes.
As an answer to that belief, the brand will be introducing its AI-powered operating system (OS), ColorOS 16, together with the upcoming OPPO Find X9 Ultra.
Deeply embedding AI into the smartphone, the OS offers personalised and intuitive intelligence through its AI Mind Space. As the name suggests, this feature has a mind of its own, designed to assist users in any way possible by working naturally in the background.
With a single press of its snap key or a three-finger swipe, users can instantly capture what’s on their screen and have it automatically filed into structured, searchable memories.
On the other hand, the AI Bill Manager might be music to many ears as it is designed to bring clarity to personal finance. Managing our finances means ensuring our documents are organised, but scattered transactions across different formats make it difficult to stay on top of them.
After making a payment with the smartphone, users will need to enable the AI Mind Space, where it will automatically extract and record key spending details from digital invoices and billing information.
It also works effortlessly with physical receipts. Just open the camera function and activate the phone’s AI, and it will instantly capture and process the information. All bill records are neatly organised in a dedicated Bill Memory collection within the AI Mind Space for easy tracking.
The other feature under this OS is the AI Mind Pilot that aims to deliver personalised answers. It draws on the user’s personal context from the AI Mind Space before leveraging multiple AI models to craft the answers.
Users can also choose their preferred AI model or engage with multiple models simultaneously, to compare perspectives and identify the most relevant insights, all within a single, seamless experience.

Intelligence that moves with you
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra also comes with a range of new AI features with the aim of simplifying everyday tasks to save time and allow users to focus on what truly matters.
One of the challenges of travelling to another country is the language barrier; something as simple as ordering food can quickly become a struggle, from translations to unfamiliar dish names and currency conversions.
The ColorOS 16 addresses this with the AI Menu Translation tool, offering an AI-powered dining companion that is said to deliver accurate translations, along with rich descriptions of the dishes.
It can also identify key ingredients and generate visual references of the dishes while prices are automatically converted into the preferred currency, giving users a better idea of what they are ordering.
When it comes to the number of emails that we need to sieve through every day, the AI Email Brief feature comes in handy.
It delivers a summary of key emails from the past 24 hours, where important meetings and tasks are categorised, and with the option to add them to the user’s calendar with a single tap.
Beyond the continued evolution of its AI capabilities, the new OS also brings a series of foundational experience upgrades to enhance daily interactions.
With the Live Space, a smart, adaptable lock screen, one can easily switch between capsule view and stacked notifications with simple gestures, making it easier to view updates at a glance while keeping the wallpaper clean and unobstructed.
The brand is also collaborating with Google to develop Quick Share with Apple devices, which enables the OPPO Find X9 Ultra to send photos, videos and files directly to Apple devices without additional apps, fostering cross-ecosystem collaboration.

Design that commands attention
When it comes to design, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra wears its identity with pride.
While ColorOS 16 delivers intelligent features with seamless performance and connectivity, it is clear that the camera system sits at the heart of the smartphone’s experience.
Designed to reflect this philosophy, the phone takes its visual cues from Hasselblad's acclaimed X2D camera, carrying forward the Swedish brand’s unique design language, signature orange accent and refined physical details.
The camera module also features lens-like details, including a hexagonal pattern that resembles aperture blades, as well as a textured ring designed to mimic a traditional focus ring.
The smartphone comes in two colours: Tundra Umber and Canyon Orange.
The Tundra Umber colour option is inspired by Scandinavian minimalism and the natural tones of tundra landscapes and glaciers. It also features a leather-style back with stitching details, alongside horizontally aligned OPPO and Hasselblad logos, a design touch meant to resemble a classic camera body.
Meanwhile, Canyon Orange takes cues from Antelope Canyon in the United States, known for its wave-like rock formations and warm tones that shift under sunlight. These natural tones are recreated on the back of the phone to give it a bolder and more eye-catching look.
