Friends embark on foot to the heart of Mecca

TWO friends have started their lifelong dream of walking to Mecca to perform their haj or umrah next year, reported Harian Metro.

Mohamad Al Bukhari Ellia, 27, shared that he and Mohamad Azizul Abdullah, 34, began their journey from their home in Kampung Changkat Lobak, Bagan Serai, in Perak, on Dec 1 and reached Penang on Dec 3.

Bukhari said they plan to continue their trek to Bangkok, Thailand, before flying to India and then walking the rest of the way to Saudi Arabia.

“We’ve been dreaming of this for two years, and now, thanks to Allah’s grace, we’re making it happen.

Besides performing umrah or haj, we aim to visit Prophet Muhammad’s grave and spread goodwill along the way,” he said.

Bukhari also stated that he and Azizul had prepared for the long journey by walking from their village to Cameron Highlands while carrying a 20kg load to increase their stamina. The journey took them seven days.

> Singer Syura Badron has decided against filing a police report over the recent explosion at a Perlis guesthouse where she and her husband were staying, reported Kosmo!Syura shared that her husband, Muhammad Farizat, was hospitalised with severe burns to his face, legs, and hands following the incident on Nov 25,

“We chose not to file a report out of concern for the guesthouse owner. We knew they would face issues.”

She believes the explosion was likely caused by a gas buildup inside a closed kitchen cabinet, rather than any negligence on her or her husband’s part.
