Selangor police have been sharing intelligence on GISB with Mais, Jais

KLANG: Selangor police have been sharing intelligence on Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) with the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) since “early on”, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

“What I can stress is there is cooperation with both regarding activities in Selangor, " the Selangor police chief said.

He said this after the Selangor Police Integrity Half Marathon 2024 event here at the Sultan Suleiman Stadium on Sunday (Sept 22).

He added that he would meet His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, to brief His Majesty once summoned to do so.

On Saturday (Sept 21), His Majesty, in a statement from the Selangor Royal Office, expressed disappointment and regret over the lack of effective action taken against GISB.

On Sept 19, 19 individuals, including the GISB chief executive officer, his wife and other family members, were detained by Bukit Aman CID following raids on four residential units at Jalan Imbi.

The 12 men and seven women were remanded until Wednesday (Sept 25).

On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children, comprising 201 boys and 201 girls, aged between one and 17, from the 20 care homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan in a rescue operation codenamed Ops Global.

There were allegations that the children were abused, exploited and sexually assaulted.

A total of 171 suspects, aged 17 to 64, were arrested during the operation.
