SHAH ALAM: Police have recorded statements from eight people in their investigation into the death of singer Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the investigation was ongoing.

“We are investigating various angles, including to determine if there was any criminal element or personal problem, and into the mental state of the victim.

“We will get to the bottom of this,” he said yesterday.

Comm Hussein, who on Friday inspected the location where the singer’s body was found near the Kota Bridge in Klang, said no reports of missing items belonging to the singer had been lodged.

He said the family members of the deceased had not made any such reports.

During his visit to Kota Bridge, Comm Hussein was briefed on the investigation by the investigating officer.

Among those who accompanied him were South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong and his deputy Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah.

On Wednesday evening, the singer’s body was discovered underneath the bridge.

He was last seen leaving a house in Jalan Kerongsang 4 in Bandar Puteri on Aug 13.

His girlfriend traced his last location to the bridge where a family member found his wallet and other belongings.

A post-mortem showed that there were no physical injuries.

A laboratory report is still pending to determine the exact cause of death.

Muhammad Nidza is known for his single Ternyata Bukan Aku.

He gained fame for his song covers on social media, particularly on his YouTube channel, where his cover of Rindu Setengah Mati has nearly seven million views.

He also appeared in I Can See Your Voice Season 3.

Living in Shah Alam, he previously studied Sports Management at UniKL and worked with his older brother in the music industry while maintaining an active part-time presence on social media.
