Melaka PAS deputy commissioner III passes away


MELAKA: Melaka PAS Deputy Commissioner III Muhammad Puhat Bedol has died while participating in the PAS Melaka Football and Netball Championship at the Batu Berendam Sports Complex on Sunday (Aug 11).

Datuk Kamarudin Sidek, a PAS Melaka liaison committee member, said that Muhammad Puhat, 55, who was also Hang Tuah Jaya PAS president, collapsed and lost consciousness around 12.30pm while playing futsal.

Kamarudin, who is also Jasin PAS president, said that Muhammad Puhat was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by other participants at the event before being rushed to Melaka Hospital.

"Muhammad Puhat briefly regained consciousness during CPR before vomiting and was hurried to the hospital, but he passed away while receiving treatment," he told Bernama on Sunday.

He added that the funeral prayers will be held at Madrasah Al-Ikhlas Taman Jati in Batu Berendam before the burial at the Melaka Islamic Religious Council (MAIM) Bidadari Cemetery in Ayer Keroh after Maghrib prayers. – Bernama
