Girl who impersonated a doctor out on bail

PETALING JAYA: The 14-year-old girl who was arrested for allegedly trespassing and impersonating a doctor at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (HSIS), Serdang, has been granted police bail.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said that bail had been granted yesterday afternoon.

He added that the investigation paper would be handed over to the deputy public prosecutor in the near future.

Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, when contacted, said the girl was found to have “fikiran terganggu” (troubled thoughts), but there has been no motive.

The girl was arrested at HSIS on Thursday after she was believed to have impersonated a medical doctor.

Police also seized scrubs and a hospital lanyard from her.

Initial investigation revealed that she had claimed to be a doctor and offered to assist in performing surgeries.

A police report was lodged on Aug 7 after the unknown girl was found inside an operating theatre.

Her two-day remand expired yesterday.
