PUTRAJAYA: The remand of a former chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has been extended by another four days in connection with investigations into the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the pilgrimage fund.
The remand order, until Aug 31, was issued by Magistrate Ezrene Zakariah following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court on Thursday (Aug 27).
Earlier, the man in his 60s, clad in orange lock-up attire and handcuffed, arrived at the court at about 9.30am today accompanied by MACC officers.
It was previously reported that the former CEO had been remanded last week for seven days.
The RCI report on TH, which was made public four years after it was completed, put forward 25 key recommendations aimed at improving transparency, professionalism and governance within the institution.
Among its key recommendations was a proposal to bar active politicians from serving on TH's board of directors to prevent political interference.
