Remand for three GOF personnel, one other over robbery expected to be extended, say cops


PETALING JAYA: The remand for three General Operations Force (GOF) personnel and a civilian detained in connection with a robbery at a foreign worker's home in Semenyih, is expected to be extended.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police will apply for a remand extension upon the expiry of their initial remand on Wednesday (Aug 7) and Thursday (Aug 8).

"We have seized several items pertaining to the case.

"For now, we are still searching for another suspect who is still at large. We have identified him and we believe he is still in the country," he told a press conference after attending the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters' evidence disposal event on Wednesday.

Comm Hussein said a photofit and details of the suspect will be issued to the media soon.

"We urge him to surrender himself to the police as soon as possible," he said.

Comm Hussein said the police will complete the investigation before submitting the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.

It was reported that three GOF personnel and a civilian were detained in connection with robbing a house occupied by a foreigner in Semenyih on Aug 1.
