IPOH: A 71-year-old man in Bagan Datuk has been arrested by police for molesting a 10-year-old girl.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said a report was made on Aug 6 by the victim's 39-year-old mother.
He said the victim's mother claimed that the suspect is her former babysitter's husband.
"The victim is believed to have been molested at a house in Kampung Sungai Pulau in Sungai Sumun.
"The suspect was arrested at about 5pm to assist in investigations," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 6).
The case is being investigated under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
