Missing childcare worker contacts family in KL, say cops

KUALA LUMPUR: Missing childcare worker, Nur Shafila Suaib, has contacted her family, says Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa.

The Kuala Lumpur police chief stated that investigators have been instructed to track her down and ensure her safety.

"She has contacted her family. However, a message or call to the family is not enough for the police. We have to track her down and ensure that she is safe," he said in a press conference at the handing over ceremony for the Dang Wangi OCPD post on Monday (July 29).

Initial investigations revealed there were some disagreements between Nur Shafila and her family.

It was reported that the childcare worker had been missing for 11 days after last being contactable early last week.

A circular by the Kuala Lumpur police showed that the 20-year-old, who works in Desa Petaling, had been missing since July 15, when family members failed to contact her.

A report was lodged on her disappearance on July 16.

"Those with information on her whereabouts are urged to contact Salak Selatan Baru police station assistant investigating officer Sergeant Khalik Abdul Wahab at 03-7981 5053 or their nearest police station," the circular said.
